Research methodology and source policy
KLXCards publishes collector-reference material only when the supported catalog identity, scope, and evidence survive reconciliation. Automation helps with scale; it does not make the evidence infallible.
Source priority
Official publisher checklists, rules, product pages, announcements, and other first-party records have priority for release facts. Structured databases and reputable secondary references may help identify gaps or compare conventions, but they do not silently override an official source.
Master Set inclusion and exclusion
A Master Set Guide defines each public completion tier explicitly. Canonical set cards, parallel or treatment variants, promotional printings, stamps, and event distributions are included only when the cited evidence and the exact-printing catalog support them. Sealed products are never counted as cards. A collector convention may inform an expanded tier, but it is labeled as a convention rather than an official publisher definition.

Research tools and human review
KLXCards may use structured catalog tools, automated reconciliation, AI-assisted research and drafting, programmatic tests, and source comparison. Ken reviews the cited evidence and publication boundary. These systems can still miss or misinterpret information, so guides retain visible sources, review dates, and a correction path.
Fail-closed publication
Research that is incomplete, contradictory, weakly sourced, or not reconciled to durable printing identities remains held from public Master Set navigation and sitemaps. A release can stay publicly browsable without receiving a Master Set Guide. Publication dates describe KLXCards content publication; historical release dates remain separate catalog facts.
Terminology
A canonical card is the underlying card identity. A printing is a specific collectible version with its own release, number, finish, treatment, language, or other supported attributes. A checklist row is an inclusion decision for a particular scope. A sealed product is a separate catalog entity. Owned and Wanted state is private, user-specific, and printing-level.
Corrections and meaningful updates
Corrections are evaluated against the same source hierarchy and durable identities. A meaningful editorial or factual update may change the visible review date and structured dateModified; a build, request, or formatting-only change does not.
